Operations diagnosis

Your team works hard and nobody can say where the time goes

We look at how your team really works and where the time goes. You get a document with what exists, what's missing and where to start.

Who it’s for

For people who run a team that is busy all day and can’t say where the time goes. And for anyone about to invest in a new system who first wants to know what the current one already does.

Signs you need this

  • The same information lives in three places and nobody knows which one is right.
  • Meetings are mostly about finding out where the work stands.
  • You’re about to buy or replace an ERP, CRM or another major tool.
  • The team has grown and the processes have stayed the same.

What we do

  1. We talk to the people who do the work and follow a real day, instead of looking at the process on paper.
  2. Where there are systems, we go in with read-only access and look at what’s actually there.
  3. We find where time is lost and where information gets lost.
  4. We deliver a document with what exists, what’s missing and where to start.

Putting time into the wrong place costs money and doesn’t bring growth. The diagnosis is there to stop that happening.

A real case

At an engineering firm with fewer than 10 people, we audited the ERP before the company invested in it. We found that 1 in every 7 hours worked wasn’t counted in the cost of any project, so margins looked better than they were. The implementation plan now starts from what the system has.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the problem. A simple case takes a few hours, and the review is part of preparing the proposal. A systems audit takes from two days to a month.

Will you touch our systems?

No. During the diagnosis we only have read-only access and change no records. The non-disclosure agreement is signed before we receive any document.

What do we get at the end?

A document with what exists, what's missing and where to start, ranked by impact, with the decisions prepared for management. It stays with you.

How much of the team's time will it take?

Not much, and agreed up front. Short interviews with the people who do the work, and observing one real day.
